Compare more than the brightest number
A light’s highest lumen figure does not describe every mode or its runtime. Lezyne’s guide distinguishes lights intended to help others see you from lights that illuminate the route. Read the mode-by-mode specifications and consider the roads you use, including unlit stretches.
Make the mount part of the decision
Check the mount against your handlebar or seatpost dimensions and shape. Plan the position around bags, cables and your computer. A light hidden behind a bag is poorly placed even if it fits securely. Follow the manufacturer’s mounting and aiming instructions.
Leave room for the unexpected
Choose a mode whose stated runtime covers the planned ride with a margin for delays. Recharge before setting off and check both front and rear lights. If your routine depends on arriving after dark, think through what you would do if a battery runs low. Compare the complete setup, not just the headline specification.
